Couture Garment Care Instructions
Hand-Beaded & Appliqué Pieces
Couture garments are wearable works of art. Each piece is individually constructed with hand beading, appliqué, and delicate finishes that require thoughtful care to preserve their structure, embellishment, and beauty.
Handling & Wearing
-
Always handle with clean, dry hands. Oils, lotions, and makeup can transfer easily to delicate fabrics and beadwork.
-
Avoid contact with rough surfaces, jewellery, or bags that may snag threads or appliqué.
-
Be mindful of friction areas such as underarms, waistbands, and seating.
Cleaning
-
Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
-
Professional dry clean only, and only with a cleaner experienced in couture, eveningwear, or hand-embellished garments.
-
Always inform your cleaner that the garment includes hand beading and appliqué so appropriate solvents and techniques are used.
-
Spot cleaning at home is not recommended, as moisture can loosen beads, dyes, or adhesives.
Storage
-
Store in a breathable garment bag. Never use plastic, as it traps moisture and can cause yellowing or deterioration.
-
Hang using padded or wide hangers to support the garment’s weight and prevent strain on beadwork.
-
For heavily embellished or weighted pieces, flat storage in acid-free tissue is preferred.
-
Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
Steaming & Pressing
-
Do not iron directly on embellishments.
-
Light steaming may be used on the reverse side of the garment only.
-
Keep steam at a safe distance to avoid softening adhesives or damaging appliqué.
-
If in doubt, consult a professional garment technician.
Transport
-
Transport flat or carefully folded with acid-free tissue between layers to prevent crushing beadwork.
-
Avoid over-packing or compressing garments in suitcases or garment bags.
Repairs & Alterations
-
Any repairs, resizing, or alterations should be carried out by Pageanz Worldwide Ltd only.
-
Never cut or remove beading or appliqué without expert advice, as this may compromise the garment’s structure.
General Care Notes
-
Some beadwork and fabrics are naturally delicate and may show subtle wear over time. This is considered part of the garment’s artisanal nature.
-
With proper care, couture pieces can be enjoyed, worn, and passed on for many years.
